Rural learner pathways

A step-by-step journey that takes rural learners from school, into health studies, and back to serve their communities.

  1. 1

    One-on-one Mentorship

Rural learners are matched with health professionals and students who guide them from Grade 10 to their first year of study.

  2. 2

    Career Exposure

Talks, clinic visits and job shadowing that show learners what careers in medicine, nursing, pharmacy and allied health look like.

  3. 3

    Subject & Matric Support

Help with Maths, Physical Sciences and Life Sciences — the subjects that open the door to health studies.

  4. 4

    Applications & Funding

Step-by-step support with university applications, NBTs, bursaries and NSFAS so no learner is left behind by paperwork.

  5. 5

    First-year Transition

Continued mentorship through the first year at university, helping students settle, stay and succeed.

  6. 6

    Give Back to Community

Graduates return as mentors and health workers, strengthening care in the rural areas they come from.
